I arrived early to the location where the AJ Workshop was being held, feeling equally as nervous as I was excited. I had no idea what the next two days were going to look like. We were told we were going to learn about different photography tips and tricks and business related material so I was pretty excited considering I have never owned my own business before. But as I sat there waiting, my insecurities reared their ugly heads and I started to feel like I wasn’t good enough to be there. I started to feel like I didn’t have enough experience and thought everyone would sneer at my questions– after all, it was barely my first month of having my own photography business.
But as the minutes turned into hours, I quickly realized just how special Amy and Jordan were. I was sitting in the presence of two incredibly loving, supportive and generous hearts with an exorbitant amount of information that had the power to transform both businesses and lives. These two people are impacting the community in ways they probably don’t even realize. And subsequently, are attracting attendees with the same loving and supportive spirit. I came here simply wanting to learn more about photography but unexpectedly left Scottsdale with much more than that. I left with my heart abundantly full, my mind enriched, and my passion set aflame.
But as the minutes turned into hours, I quickly realized just how special Amy and Jordan were…
Now, being back home, and having a week to reflect on everything I learned, I realize how important it is to foster a sense of transparency and community in everything I do. I’ve always loved the idea of community over competition and look forward to sharing more into my journey with others. Within the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing a two-part series of MY Why (part of my self-reflection) for being in the photography business and hope you’ll join me!
For now, here are a few images from the two full days of learning and fun. Most of them were taken on my phone, so please excuse the quality. I was so captivated the entire time, that I forgot to grab my camera to snap a few quality pictures hehe
Thank you to all of the other workshop attendees who showed me kindness and support. You all are amazing and inspiring!
I promise to get on a more consistent blogging schedule soon! I have a lot of fun content planned in the next few months, so please bare with me as I continue to process and implement everything I was taught at the workshop!
