Once upon a time, there was a sweet little girl who loved to eat candies, play with her stuffed doggy and bounce around on her trampoline. Her name was Maria Paula, and she was a beautiful princess…. actually she was Little Red Riding Hood, but hey, she can be both, right!?
If you could live your own storybook tale, which one would it be? Imagine walking into a room and being transported into that magical fairytale. As you look around, your eyes catch a glimpse of all of the delicious treats. Cupcakes, sugar cookie bouquets, candy covered apples, popcorn and cake galore! Are you drooling yet? Well, friends, I had the pleasure of living this out for real! Last Friday this Princess/Little Red Riding Hood, turned TWO years old! And she had a party for the ages!! Fortunately for us though, there was no big bad wolf to be seen.. except in the form of a piñata which the kids had NO problem destroying, so it was all about having a good time and making this a super special day for Maria Paula!
As friends and family gathered together, you could tell how much adoration was in that room. Her parents put so much love and care into this day, just to make their sweet little girl’s birthday one she will never forget. And imagine how fun it will be a few years from now, to look back on these images and remember what a special day it was!! I think my favorite thing though was watching Maria Paula observe everything around her so intently. Her eyes lit up at every new activity and magical thing that she saw. She was deep in thought, watching over every detail. You could tell her imagination was in full swing!

Children grow up so fast and capturing these memories of them being little is such a joy and something I love doing for my #SAPfamilies. I think it’s such a cute detail to document some of the funny and sweet details about them at different stages in their lives, so here are a few things that Maria Paula loves at this age:
ball pits • playing dress up • being affectionate with her parents and grandparents
spending time with her cousin, Alexia • going to the park and sliding down all of the slides
listening to her parents read her stories • clowns and watching clown videos
• everything about trains
and here are just a few of my favorite images from her birthday!
Though I don’t usually cover birthday parties often, making this one exception was worth it! It was so much fun to be transported back into my childhood for a few hours. It served as a great reminder to laugh often, to enjoy and appreciate the smallest of things and to maintain that beautiful childhood sense of wonder.
Special thanks to Damariz, Mario, and vendors who went above and beyond in the design for this birthday party! So much fun!!
